Cirrus Alpine Guides' base is located in the mountain town of Canmore, Alberta, Canada. We operate throughout the
Canadian Rockies and the BC Interior
mountains. We are licensed and insured and hold land access permits for
National Parks and Provincial Parks across western Canada. We have a local network of professionally trained
Mountain and Ski Guides guides to draw upon when needed.

Cirrus Alpine Guides is owned and operated by mountain guide
Mark Stewart. Member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association
(IFMGA) and the
Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. (ACMG) Also a professional member of the
Canadian Avalanche Association and certified avalanche forecaster.
Mark holds Canadian and European Community
citizenship and has lived, skied and climbed around the Canadian Rockies for 24 years.
Guiding professionally since 1992, Marks on going
guiding career includes Helicopter and snow cat ski and snow
board guiding. Alpine, rock and ice climbing, ski touring and
avalanche safety. Guiding adventures have taken him throughout the Canadian Rockies
and interior range's, Alaska, Switzerland, France, Italy, Nepal and New Zealand. |
Since 1996 Cirrus Alpine
Guides have worked
extensively in the Canadian Rockies and BC interior Columbia mountains.
Specializing in waterfall ice, rock, alpine climbing and ski touring.
For the
summer 2008 we will be offering a larger variety of Rock and Alpine
climbing adventures. Last summer we had great success guiding the
Canadian Rockies 11,000er's and helped clients to reach 14 out of
the 51 peaks including a traverse of the Lyells. Last winter season
was the best snow in the last ten years and the local powder was
amazing. Multi day ski adventures and
powder skiing trips in the Selkirk mountains at Rogers Pass were a
favourite. This winter we are offering the Wapta/Yoho hut to hut
high traverses and a few advanced avalanche safety courses. We are
also guiding the local classic ice routes.
As an experienced independent
operator, Cirrus brings you the best guiding
venues and mountain skills available. I invite guests old and
