Banff Ice Routes
Banff National Park has a large selection of routes nearby on Cascade Mountain and Mt. Rundle.
Mt. Rundle is the stunning peak overlooking Banff town site and spans
for 20 km between Banff and Canmore.
It is one of the most photographed mountains in the world and can be captured west of the town site as you are heading east.
Its northeast face boasts some of the worlds most technical ice climbs.
Cascade Mountain is the peak at the east exit into Banff above the airfield.
You will identify it as the mountain that stands at the end of mainstreet
in the Banff Town site.
Cascade Mountain is very popular with moderate climbs and short approaches.
Some of these alpine style ice routes are the longest grade 3-4 routes around.
