Canmore, Kananaskis Ice Routes

Canmore is located in the Bow Valley, the core of waterfall ice climbing routes in the Rockies.

Canmore is located 110 km west of Calgary, 20 km east of Banff and Lake Louise is 70 km west.
Canmore offers a large amount of hotels, restaurants, pubs and shops therefore a great town to base from.

Kananaskis Country is the closest climbing area to Calgary and has a small number of good quality ice routes.

Kananaskis Country is accessed via the Trans Canada hwy#1 to the Kananaskis Trail Hwy #40 or through Canmore past the Nordic center via the Smith-Dorrien Spray Trail.
