Climb Mt Joffre Kananaskis Country

Mt Joffre North Face 11,319ft/3450m, 26th highest peak in the Rockies.

Mt Joffre is one of two 11,000ers in Kananaskis Country and sits on the Continental Divide.

This peak offers great views of the Italian Group to the south and the Royal Group to the northwest.

The North Face is a classic moderate route with 4-5 pitches of up to 40 degrees on snow and ice.

This route is best as a 3 day, 2 night camping trip but can be done in two days if your very fit.

Day 1- head into Astra Lakes via the upper Kananaskis Lakes trail, 5-6 hours.
Day 2- climb the North Face route to the summit and decend the same way, 6-8 hours.
Day 3- packup camp and hike out.

This is a BC Parks camping area and is well set up with food hangers and out house, it is a very nice spot with a fresh water spring.
